Ernie is survived by his wife, Charlene; son, Craig (Jennette) Nall of Bulpitt, Illinois; daughter, Deb (Greg) Rendleman of Manito; four granddaughters, Makenzie (Alex) Pampinella of Pekin, Illinois, Kylie Nall of Bloomington, Illinois, Carli Rendleman of Creve Coeur, Illinois, and Rielynne Nall of Bulpitt, Illinois; one grandson, Christopher Jones of Bulpitt, Illinois; and one brother, Michael (Arlene) Nall of The Villages, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Wilmer Nall; and sister, Lois French.
Ernie served in the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1964 as a military police officer in Washington State. He also pursued an Industrial Arts degree at Western Illinois University. He worked for Caterpillar in East Peoria, Illinois as a Manufacturing Systems Technician, where he retired in the fall of 1996.
Ernie enjoyed camping with family when his children were younger, woodworking, genealogy, cooking, and was well-known for his chicken and noodles and bread baking. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded and the family is respecting Ernie’s wishes and will not be having services.
Per Ernie’s request, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund in honor of his granddaughters, Makenzie and Carli. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.hurleyfh.com.
