Shelby Raymond LIghtle

Shelby Raymond Lightle, 84, of Lostant, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by his family.


Visitation will be held 12-2:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home, Lewistown followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Shane Smith of Lewistown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with full military rites conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1, will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lewistown. Additionally, visitation will be held 2-4:00 PM Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Mark Nowakowski, pastor of Lostant United Methodist Church officiating. Masonic services will also be held.


Mr. Lightle was born November 27, 1939 in Bryant to Everett and Constance (Cook) Lightle. He graduated from Lewistown High School. Mr. Lightle was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was a Machinery Mate-3. He married Norma Southwood on May 25, 1962 at Isabel Church near Lewistown.


Mr. Lightle worked for International Harvester in Canton for 10 years before going to work as a maintenance manager at Oak State Products for 32 years. Mr. Lightle was a member of the Wenona Masonic Lodge and he was very active in the Lostant United Methodist Church. He spent many years rebuilding antique tractors.


Survivors include his wife, Norma; two sons, Ethan (Karen) Lightle of Dunlap and Matthew (Rachel) Lightle of Oglesby; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Hailey, Eric, Joel, Bennett, and Maxwell; one sister, Patricia (Milton) Ketchum of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joshua; and two brothers, Edward and Everett "Al" Lightle.
