She is survived by three children, Angela (Arnold) Miller of Lewistown, Stormy (Ashley Phillips) Strait of We-ma-tuk, and Shawnna (Jeff) Anderson of Canton; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; four siblings, Merl (Edie) Swearingen of Lewistown, Marcella (Glen) Goldring-Edenburn of Farmington, Melvin (Kenna) Swearingen of Lewistown, and Marsha (Mark) Giacobazzi of Peoria Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Tyler.
Mavis worked at Peoria Publishing Co. and Sunset Nursing Home. She then became a stay-at-home wife and mother. She loved fishing, mushrooming, gardening, flowers and feeding the wild life. She had many dear friends over the years and many from the apartment building she lived in.
