He was a great fan of tanks and armor and was considered by published authors quite knowledgeable in this field. He was often sought by book publishers to check their work before books went into publication. He spent over 25 years as a civilian volunteer at the George S. Patton Museum at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, where he was also a crew member on the demonstration tank “Ole Henry” a Sherman Tank. He received a civilian service award for his volunteer service to the museum. He worked and retired as a machinist for Keystone Steel and Wire after 40 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #44 in Pekin, Illinois.
A great fan of steam trains he spent many summers chasing trains to ride. He was an accomplished artist who built military models, and an avid reader of military history. All of these interests were pulled together thru his talent in photography. He thanks his friends: and, more specifically, his wife, Nan, his daughter, Martha (grandchildren Sam and Peyton) his grandson Jon and his great grandchildren Breck and Ella. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
