Loretta Jeane Ossman

Canton- Loretta Jeane Ossman, 83, of Canton, passed away at 11:04 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on September 28, 1938 in Moberly, Missouri, a daughter of Forrest and Lillian (Reno) Kaufman. She married Arthur Ossman on August 1, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Jeff (Amber) Ossman of Farmington; Jody (Don Signore) Ossman of Atlanta, Georgia; Lori (Bob) Wages of Canton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, James Kaufman of Canton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeane taught early childhood education at Canton Head start for many years, also working in Childcare for the Canton YMCA and Canton YWCA, and later in her own home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton.

Per Jeane’s wishes, there will be no services, and cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial of ashes will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to the OSF Children’s Hospital in Peoria.
