Barbara Kay Richard, 84, of Chandlerville passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Havana Healthcare Center in Havana. She was born on March 30, 1938 in Bath to Donald and Pauline (Ingram) Stiegleder. She married Jackie Richard on December 29,1956. He preceded her in death in 2005.Barbara is survived by her children: Rickey (Linda) Richard and Brenda (Kenny) Collins of Chandlerville, seven grandchildren: Morgan (Jocelyn) Richard, Jared (Mary) Richard, Lindsey Davin, Carrie (Chad) Claussen, Kayleigh (Jeremy) Johnson, Logan (Lakyn) Collins, and Joel (Grace) Collins, sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and sister, Mary (Bucko) Carlock of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Richard, and sisters, Ruth Fagin, Peggy Jolly, and Patsy Crank.
Barbara was a member of the Chandlerville Christian Church. She worked for Volmers Grocery Store, the U.S. Postal Service, and the Hitching Post Restaurant. She and her husband also owned the pool hall in Chandlerville for a number of years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She was known as the Crossword Puzzle Queen and loved having coffee with her friends every morning.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Brian Eilers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Chandlerville Cemetery.
