Canton-Daniel Joe Gomes, 69, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born on June 27, 1953 in Peoria to Charles and Gloria (Carlson) Gomes. They preceded him in death.He married Sharon Righi on November 25, 1988. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2018.
Surviving are his children, Sheila (Scott) Stenger of Hanna City, Ruth (Bill) Hyde of Wayland, IA, Curtis (Amanda) Gomes of Norwalk, IA, step son, Charlie Hainline of Canton, one sister, Patricia Gomes of Elmwood, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Daniel was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Dorothea and one grandchild.
He worked as a self-employed recycler.
Cremation rites will be accorded through the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A private burial of the ashes will be held at Elmwood Township Cemetery at a later date.
