Rodney Lee Bricker
Rodney and Carolyn were married on April 11, 1959. They lived in Colorado for many years where they raised three children and owned a TV and appliance business. They returned to the Bricker family farm near Summum, IL for several years before returning to Colorado. Rodney and Carolyn moved to Wyoming before finally retiring to Fulton County to be close to family.
Rodney leaves behind his three children, Renee (and Richard) Dotson of Bayfield, CO, Rhonda (and Richard) DeJournett of Indianapolis, IN, and Jason (and Belynda) of Mitchell, NE. He was a proud grandfather to Stuart (and Sonal Vyas) Dotson, Taylor (and Rachel) Dotson, Tom (and Christel) Dotson, Danae (and Jon White) DeJournett and Tre` DeJournett, and great-grandfather to Antony, Helena, Orson and Jules Dotson.
He is also survived by his brother Marion (and Minhua) Bricker of Boulder, CO, and 2 sisters, Lois (and Joe) Palmer of Vermont, IL, and Cheryl (and Harry) Bricker Press. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Jerry Bricker.
Rodney and Carolyn were members of the Canton Church of the Brethren. Rodney, along with Carolyn, were avid supporters of the VA and loved to square dance while they lived in Wyoming. Rodney also loved camping and four wheeling in the mountains, muscle cars and farming. Rodney was considered a Jack-of-all-trades and loved spending time with his family. He was a very devoted grandfather.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Canton Church of the Brethren. Pastor Kevin Kessler will be officiating. Memorials may be made to the Woodland Church of the Brethren or the Canton Church of the Brethren.
Patricia "Patty" J. Fincham
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Fincham of Pheonix, AZ, and Jeffrey Fincham of Elmwood; two grandsons, Bryce Fincham and Dylan Fincham; one brother, Richard Runyon; and one sister, Trudy Runyon.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Duane Runyon, Dale Runyon, Terry Runyon, Charles Runyon, and Michael Runyon; and three sisters, Janice Reicheneker, Nancy Reicheneker, and Mary Carroll.
Patty was a loving wife, devoted mother, and a homemaker. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed baking at the holidays. Patty was a very dedicated fan to her two sons and their sports often cheering the loudest in the crowd. During her life she also helped to raise several other children that she treated like her own. Her caring nature and humor touched all who met her. Her life's journey led her to St. Peters, MO, Charlotte, NC, and back to Elmwood. She was blessed with many wonderful friendships along the way. Patty was accepting of life's hardships and always had an "it is what it is" attitude. Patty's legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Elmwood Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her grandsons, Bryce and Dylan Fincham and Fresenius Kidney Center in Canton, IL.

Bob Allen Schade
He is survived by his three children, Amber (Jeff) Olson of Omaha, NE, Brent Schade of Jacksonville, FL, and Heather (Adam) Royster of Duncombe, IA; six grandchildren, Brent Schade Jr, Cale Schade, Sydney Olson, Eliza Olson, Luke Royster, and Garrett Royster; mother-in-law, Betty Tracey; two brothers, Charlie Schade and Dennis Schade; and three sisters, Carla Jones, Dianne Swift, and Barb Schade.
Bob enlisted in the Army National Guard upon graduating from high school. He served 18 years and was later a member of the Illinois SWAT team. He was also employed at Caterpillar and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers #974 for all of his years at Caterpillar. After retirement, Bob worked as a bus driver for the Canton School district for 17 years. Bob was a dedicated to working his whole life and he liked to keep himself busy constantly. He loved his children and grandchildren immensely. Bob was a life long Chicago Cubs fan. In his younger years, Bob was wonderful little league coach to many. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with the love of his life, Donna and his grandkids. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren watching them compete in music events and sports.
A Memorial Visitation and Service will be held from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, with Military Honors occurring before the service at 4:30 PM. Sharon Lee Dolan
Yates City- Sharon Lee Dolan, 75, of Yates City, passed away at 1:15 AM on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. She was born on August 21, 1946, a daughter of Donald and June (Fleisher) Whisenand. She first married Larry Reents, and later married James Dolan on March 25, 1995. He preceded her in death.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter; LeeAnn (Ryan) Hinthorne of Lawrenceburg; her three step-children; James (Laura) Dolan, Mike (Kathy) Dolan, and Cathy (Fred) Frangipane; three grandchildren, Hailee, Ashlee, and Ryan Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Chris and Jeff Dolan, Giana Greer and Nick Frangipane, Morgan Bennett, Kelsey Dolan, and Hunter Dolan; Special Niece Sara (Justin) Hanlin of Trivoli, and their children Madilyn, Claire, and Jolene; Special Nephew Bart (Beth) Boyer of Springfield, and their children, Garrett and Cameron; Special Niece Julie Boyer, of Pekin; and her sister Donna (Ronald) Boyer of Trivoli.
Sharon worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years, and was a member of United Methodist Church of Elmwood. She was also an avid baker for the Meals on Wheels program.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Anderson- Sedgwick Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Rev. David Pyell will be officiating. Jerold E. Ellis
Also surviving are his children, Jeffery E. Ellis, and Bryan M. Ellis, both of Urbana, Ohio; Scott Ellis of Peoria; three step-sons, Donald (Marla) Foulk, and Ronald (Malisa) Foulk, both of Canton; Terry Towery of Peoria; two step-daughters Cindy (Donald) Whetstine of Urbana, Ohio, and Sue Taffer of Canton; two grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren, and his sister Janice M. Link of McHenry, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three step-grandchildren, and his sister Joyce Ellis.
Jerry was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving time in the Air Force during 1965. He then worked as a Lineman for Spoon River Electric for many years before retiring. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and also the Elks Lodge, both in Canton.

Rose Isbell
Rose Isbell, 82, of Farmington, passed away, Monday, July 25, 2022, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on January 14, 1940, in Peoria, to Edward and Marie (Eden) Nau.She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger Isbell. They were married on January 30, 1970.
Also surviving are four children, Christopher Dentino, Deborah (John) Strickland, Fredrick (Shelby) Isbell, Barbara Marie (Bobby) Hawkinson, five step children, Deanna (Martin) Hoopingarner, Alice (Scott) Payne, Kathy (Clifford) Haggard, Barbara (the late John) Brentrup, and Timber Isbell, one brother Edward (Eleanor) Nau, one sister, Mary Lou (the late Bill) Haste, numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Preceeding her in death are her parents, two children, Gregory Dentino and William Dentino, and three brothers, Chuck Nau, Jerry Nau, and Billy Nau.
Rose retired from Knox County Nursing home in Knoxville in 2003 after 28 years of service. She enjoyed playing Bingo at Farmington Village during her time there and most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Cremation rites will be accorded a burial of her ashes will take place at a later date at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

David was a member of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He worked on a barge in New Orleans for 30 years.

Rachel Buskirk, 92, of Canton, passed away at 2:07 pm Sunday, July 24, 2022 at The Loft in Canton. She was born on February 7, 1930 in Parrish, AL, to Charlie B. and Nora Lee (Roberts) Turner. They preceded her in death along with daughter Cindy Eyman, son Frank Leroy Buskirk Jr, two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are three children; Judy (John) Spahn of Canton, Deborah Jean Hillman of Creve Coeur and Brad Buskirk of Murfreesboro, TN, fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rachel had worked at Graham Hospital, Maid-Rite and the Four Seasons. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Jack L. Depoy, Sr.
Jack is survived by 5 children: Vicki Watkinson of Warrenton, MO, Julie (Jeff)Doyle of Mason City, IL, Jack (Carla) Depoy, Jr. of Lincoln, IL, Penny (Bill) Durdle and Kelly (Mike) Hammel of San Jose, IL. He has 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene in 2018, 5 siblings: Darold Depoy, Wynoa Depoy, Junior Depoy, Juanita Dorethy, Eloise Wear, son-in-law Tom Watkinson and his granddaughter, Shannon Hammel.
He served in the United State Army and retired from Keystone as a millwright in 1987. He enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and mechanical work, old time tv shows and listening to country music, but he enjoyed spending time with family and friends the most.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life for Jack will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the San Jose United Methodist Church, military rites to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

Robert Dean Taylor
Robert was a member of Chandlerville Christian Church. He started working at AE Staleys in Decatur. He then worked for Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring in 1996. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Tay's Place in Chandlerville for ten years. He was a former member of the A-C Central School Board, and had worked for both the Chandlerville and A-C Central schools. He grew up at Crane Lake Duck Club and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Masonic Lodge AF&AM #724 in Chandlerville. In retirement he enjoyed traveling and watching his grandchildren's ball games.
Graveside services will be held at Chandlerville Cemetery on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Brian Eilers will officiate.

Mrs. High is survived by seven children: Rev. Steven (Laura) High, of Hartford City, Indiana, Roger High, of Havana, Rev. James (Jan) High of Eaton, Ohio, Michael (Melanie) High of Germantown Hills, Illinois, Jerry (Julie) High of Orangeville, Illinois, Tracy (John) Aurand of Salem, Illinois, Laura (Steven) Barras of Allen, Louisiana; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and ten siblings: Truman Rhodes, Elvy Rhodes, Carl Rhodes, Ennis “Bud” Rhodes, Delight Callaway, Joyce Hicks, Carl Rhodes, Larry Rhodes, Dennis Rhodes, and Steven Rhodes.
Mrs. High was a member of the Havana Church of the Nazarene. She was an avid seamstress who was skilled at making wedding dresses. She was very proud to have earned one of the highest scores in her county when taking the G.E.D. For several years, she owned and operated he own catering business.
Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Steven High will officiate.

Barbara J. Brown
Mrs. Brown is survived by one daughter, Linda (Mike) Hine, of Havana; daughter-in-law, Annette Brown, of Havana; four grandchildren: Deanna (Eric) Murphy, Chad (Summer) Brown, Carrie (Scott) Hackman, all of Havana, and Aimee (Nate) Turner, of Kilbourne; eight great-grandchildren: Brooke, Tori, Trey, Tyson, Tayler, Chloe, Andee and Jack; as well as four great-great-grandchildren: Hensley, Jerrick, Riggins and Kase. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Robert C. Brown, as well as longtime companion, Don Bainter.
Mrs. Brown retired from the Mason County Courthouse, where she had worked in the Treasurer’s Office for many years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Robert "Bob" Bell
Bob is survived by his wife, three daughters: Brittanie (Trey) Reneau, of Ipava, Tiffanie (Adam Oatman) Bell, of Kilbourne, and Whittanie (Chandler) Daughtry, of Clayton, NC; grandchildren: Bryson Bell and Landon Oatman, Brantley and Taelynn Reneau, and Lucas Daughtry; niece, Madelyn Howerter; and nephews, Marlon and Dominique; brother, Bill Bell of St. Louis; and sister, Becky (Craig Williams) Bell of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Stephanie (TIson) Howerter, of Havana; and in-laws, Don and Peggy Miller of Kilbourne. Bob has been a trucker for over twenty years, starting for Bill Severns and RCM Co-op afterwards, until his death. He enjoyed time with his kids and grandkids, fishing and tinkering in his garage on anything with a motor.

Sharon Pasley Baxter
Also preceding her in death were both of her parents; and her brother Marshall Werry.
Surviving are her three sons, Van J. Pasley of Canton, Troy J. Pasley of Canton, and Jeremy F. L. (Molly) Pasley of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Landon Pasley and Taylor Hahn; three great grandchildren; her nephew Donnie Werry Jr.; her niece Sharon Werry; and her brother Donnie Werry of Lewistown.
Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for many years before retiring from the profession. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Canton, and she loved spending her free time outdoors. Some of her favorite outdoor activities included camping and playing with her grandkids.

Gloria Chambers
She was also preceded in death by her father, Phillip Wickert, her mother Iris Lamm, Barbara Wickert by Whom she was raised, two brothers, Jacky Lamm, Randy Wickert and one sister, Ruthie McCloskey.
Gloria retired from OSF St Francis as the switch board operator. She enjoyed playing bingo but mostly loved spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 5-7 pm at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation and burial of the ashes will follow in Lancaster Cemetery in rural Glasford on Thursday, at 11 am.

Dennis R. Roberts
He is also survived by one daughter, Nichole Roberts of California; one brother, Steven (Barb) Roberts; two sisters, LaDonna (Steve) Fest and Rita (Mary Haynes) Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis served in the Army for four years. He was also an Animal Control Officer for the Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter for 28 years.

Donna Louise Thurman
Canton - Donna L. Thurman, 83, of Canton, passed away at her home on Friday, July 22, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on October 12, 1938 in Farmington to the late Hazel and Charles Thurman. She was also preceded in death by her son Marty Crouse, two brothers; Chester and Raymond, two sisters; Darlene and Joanne, sister-in-law Ruth Thurman, brother-in law Bill Bugos, 2 nephews; Eddie Bugos and Chuck Bugos, great-grandson Tyler Jones and multiple great-grand babies that never made it to her arms this side of Heaven.
She is survived by her son Jim (Lori) Eddy, daughter Teresa (Wes) Jones, brother Dick Thurman, sister-in-law Shirley Thurman, 7 grandchildren; Justin (Kim) Jones, Jared (Devin) Jones, Tyler Jones, Jamin (Kelsie) Jones, Michael (Erin) Eddy, Jessica (Chester) Ruff, Mark (Alyssa) Eddy, 22 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.Donna ran a beauty shop from her home in Canton, IL. for over 50 years. She loved her work and the friends and family she would get to visit with while doing their hair. She was very successful in her business and touched many lives thorough it, but Donna will be remembered most for all the love she gave her family throughout the years. She cooked a Christmas feast like no other, held the best sleepovers and birthday parties, had a soft spot for raising yorkies, always had an open-door policy (especially for family), and was known as "Grandma Donna" to any child who darkened her door.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton. Donna touched many lives and will be loved and cherished for eternity. Our family looks forward to our reunion with her in Heaven some day!
Services will be at 3 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Norris Cemetery.

Gisela Schuman
She was born on September 3, 1932, in Heidelberg Germany, to Heinrich and Susanna (Sieber) Schwarz. She married Hubert Schuman on August 8, 1953, in Heidelberg, Germany.
Gisela is survived by her sister Inge Kappings of Heidelberg, Germany, four children, Dale (Cynthia) Schuman of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan (Robert) Carroll of Peoria, IL, Mike Schuman of Grayslake, IL, and Ken (Michele) Schuman of Geneva, IL; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, her parents and two sisters Lore Stammler and Anneliese Nollert.
Working alongside her husband, Hubert, they built a new home in Farmington largely by themselves. They lived in the home from 1959 until this year. Gisela worked at the Canton State Bank where she enjoyed working with customers. She retired with her husband in 1991.
Gisela was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting. Over the years, she used these talents in various charitable endeavors like making pillows and small blankets for her American Sewing Guild local chapter’s donation campaigns and reworking masks for OSF at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. She also made much of her own and some of her family’s clothing. She made all sorts of special pieces from children’s sport coats to prom dresses. Gisela was very active in the local American Sewing guild chapter. She attended national meetings and was the treasurer for a time. For years Gisela also volunteered at the Graham Hospital gift shop.
She joined the First Presbyterian Church of Farmington in 1962 and was an active member. For several years she served as church treasurer and was active in the church Women’s Society.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Farmington, IL. A lunch will follow after services at the church. Mary L. Burhans
Canton - Mary L. Burhans, 79, of Canton, passed away at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on January 16, 1943 in Galesburg to Frank Leroy and Regina Rosalie (Stambaugh) Martin. Mary married Dilazon Burhans on August 2, 1963 in Cuba.
He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brother David Martin.Surviving are five children; Delbert (Sharon) Burhans of Canton, Dallas (Tracy) Burhans of Canton, Dotty Girard of Canton and twins Ronda (Jay) Hardesty of Canton and Ronald (Rubylynn) Burhans of Cleveland, TN, three brothers; Frank (Donna) Martin of Canton, Richard (Elura) Martin of Elveston, Charlie (Vanessa) Martin of Canton and Michael (Carolyn) Martin of Canton, two sisters; Helen (Dan) Johnson of Canton and Diana Bartlett of Canton, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Mary was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Canton.

John A. "Jack" Rozene
Highland - Jack Rozene, 89, of Highland, passed away at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at CedarHurst Memory Care in Highland. He was born on April 12, 1933 in Shelbyville to Donald L. and Mildred (Lovins) Rozene.
Jack married Sharon Sloan on January 13, 1962 in Urbana. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2008, along with his parents.Surviving are two children; Colleen (Scott) Becker of St. Jacob and Tal (Tina) Rozene of Effingham, four grandchildren; Brittany, Jennifer, Ethan and Ada and two great-grandchildren; Matthew and Ellie.
Jack retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1996 after working for 30 years as an electrical/mechanical engineer. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Jack was a member and officer of the Troy VFW Post #976. His hobbies include woodworking, fishing, golfing and deer hunting with his wife. Jack was an avid Illini and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was also a member and past President of the Brimfield School Booster Club and supporter of Brimfield HS FFA and Jubilee Patriots 4-H club and coached his son's summer baseball team.
Services will be 2 pm, Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood where visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Brimfield.
