Judy L. Windsor, 76, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 8:12 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1945 in Kerton Township, Fulton County, IL, the daughter of Howard and Pauline (Stockham) Ogden. Judy married Larry Windsor on August 4, 1960 in Maples Mills, IL, Larry preceded Judy in death on March 18, 2011.
Also preceding her are her parents, brother John Ogden, and 3 sisters, Dorthea Ogden, Charlotte Towery and Melba Jean Burget.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa (and Doug) Hamm of Astoria, IL, sons, Chuck (and Linda) Windsor of Astoria, and Carl “Boob” (and Vicky) Windsor of Astoria, 5 grandchildren, Eric, Josh, Chad, Carrie, and Nathan, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Judy worked as a LPN, working at several nursing homes. She also worked at Astoria Fiber-Steel, Canton Manufacturing, Bonnett’s Turky Hatchery in Havana, and a home health care giver.
Judy was the Woodland Township Supervisor for 40 years and also served on the Multi-township Board. She loved to crochet, crocheting hundreds of angels, stars and snowflakes at Christmas time. She also loved to cook and was known for her bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls, chicken and noodles, along with several other things. She also enjoyed being outside around her flowers, camping and traveling.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Matthew Thiner will be officiating. A visitation will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, October 18 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Astoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice or the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
