Ilene Davison, 88, of Canton, passed away, on Monday, October 18, 2021 at her home. She was born on November 26, 1932 in Astoria to Fred and Grace (Adkinson) Plate. They preceded her in death.Ilene married Leroy Davison on March 14, 1949, in Havana. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2017.
She is survived by seven children, Joann (Don) Burt of Sharon WI, Donna (Frank) Wiljer of Canton, Colleen (Richard) Booth of Canton, Ronald (Margarita) Davison of Chicago, Janice (Jeff) Ashwood of Canton, Ginger (Duane) Graham of Lewistown, and Tim (Shannon) Davison of Canton, one brother, Keith (Linda) Plate, three sisters, Edith (the late Richard) Coleman, Joyce (the late Jerry) Sarff and Cheryl Trone, twenty one grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Lee Plate and three great grandchildren.
After Ilene raised her children, she went back and received her GED and also got a food sanitation license.
Ilene worked as a custodian for the CUSD #66 for 19 years she retired in 1995.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton, she was affectionately known as "the pie lady", she made and sold several thousands of pies on the seasonal Spoon River Drive. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and watching the wheel of fortune. Most of all Ilene loved to spend time with all of her family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 10 :00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be held on Sunday October 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m..
