Pauline J. Ford
Pauline J. Ford, 93, of Macomb, IL, formerly of Vermont, IL, passed away at 11:17 am on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Bickford Cottage in Macomb, IL. She was born on February 18, 1925 in Vermont, the daughter of Glenn and Iva (Hayes) Danner. Pauline married F. Jerry Ford on October 9, 1946 in Astoria, IL. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1998.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, daughter, Dinah Ford and uncle, Charlie Hayes.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Gwen (and Duane) Easley of Englewood, FL, Kathy (and Rick) Heller of Canton, IL and Cindy Ford of Vermont, 9 grandchildren, Megan (Steve) Witt, Jared (and Gayle) Heller, Josh Creasey, Cristin Easley, Jessa (and Travis) Wilcoxen, Abigail (and Jackson) Moreland, Solomon Snyder, Mandy (and Andy) McClelland and Isaac Snyder, 9 great-grandchildren and her aunt, Geraldine Hayes of Macomb.
Pauline graduated from Vermont High School in 1943. She would then become a graduate of Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. After graduating, she was a secretary in the Commanders office at Camp Ellis until it closed. She was an active part of the farms. She also worked for Bybee’s Dime Store in Vermont, as a clerk.
She was a member of the Carroll Rankin American Legion Post 26 Ladies Auxillary in Vermont, IL and Vermont United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 60 years and held many offices in the Church. She loved attending the many events and games of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as long as her health allowed her to. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and reading her bible.
Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Vermont. Pastor Bennett A. Woods will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the services on Thursday. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery in Vermont. Memorials can be made to the Vermont United Methodist Church or the Vermont American Legion Auxiliary.
