Canton – Denise M. Mallicoat, 59, of Canton, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family at 10:51 AM on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was born on July 20, 1958 in Canton, IL to John E. Sr. and Betty M. (Weaver) Oatman. She married Randy Mallicoat on April 18, 1997 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are three children; Tara Oatman, Krista Myers, and Jenny Garlisch; seven grandchildren, Tryston Bishop, Kayla Weiland, Kelsey Weiland, Shooter Garlisch, Alex Walters, Matthew Walters, and Jacob Myers; three brothers, John E. Oatman, George A. Oatman, and Don L. Oatman; sister, Bert Oatman.
Denise is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Melvin J. Oatman, and Glen C. Oatman.
Denise was a nurse for over 20 years. She was involved with the Susan G. Komen foundation. She was well loved by her patients as a nurse. Denise especially loved her family and grandkids.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 5-8 PM. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Following the service a lunch will be at the Canton Elks Lodge. Memorials can be made to the family.
