Carroll E. Spears

Lewistown- Carroll E. Spears, 78, of Lewistown passed away at 1:15 PM Tuesday March 27, 2018 at his home.

He was born November 5, 1939 at Lenoir, NC; the son of Vernon Lee and Pansy Lillian (Rainey) Spears. He first married Lauretta Gaither in 1964 at Aurora and they later divorced. She passed away July 28, 2005. He later married Lulu Belle Windsor and she died September 28, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother. Surviving are three children, Bryan (Donna) Spears of Centralia, Jeffrey (Debbie) Spears of Keokuk, IA; and Deborah Parkinson of Centralia, one brother, Jerry Spears of Lenoir, NC; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and his friend George Irwin.

He retired from the Boilermakers #60 in Morton after 47 years. Carroll had served his country in the US Army.

He was a member of the Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, the Lewistown Lodge AF&AM 104, and the Lewistown American Legion. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday March 30th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Military services will be conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Lodge or Shriner’s Hospital for children.
