Farmington – Patricia “Trish” J. VanHouten, 52, of Farmington, passed away at 11:28 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 12, 1965 in Peoria, IL to Eugene and Carol (Crane) Bitner. She married Bruce VanHouten on January 25, 1985 in Farmington, IL, he survives.
Also surviving is her father, Eugene; two children, Jamie (Travis) Ward and Kelly (Mike) Hitchcock; four grandchildren, Rory Jean, Jovie, Elliott, and Grady; one brother, Richard (Libby) Bitner; and one sister, Ann (Craig) Brooks. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol, and one brother, Daniel Bitner.
Trish worked as an CISR for Kiesewetter Insurance for 20 years. She loved shopping, working in her flower garden, and traveling to the beach with family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 12 PM noon on Saturday, March 3, 2017 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10 AM to service time. Rev. Tim Bauler will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, Farmington Rescue Squad or Unity Point Hospice.
