Thomas C. Rowley
CANTON – Thomas C. Rowley, 88, of Canton, passed away at 4:30 PM on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Graham Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1928 in Canton to Thomas and Bessie (Noe) Rowley. He married Charlotte Lillie in July of 1954 in Lewistown; she preceded him in death on May 7, 1986.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Roberta Vaughn, and Peggy Picton, and five sisters, Dorothy, Helen, Mary, Lena, and Virginia.
Surviving are five children, William “Bill” Davidson of Lewistown; Vickie S. Nell of Canton, Melinda Ford of Canton, Charlene (David) Moffitt of Lewistown, and Connie J. Carter of Canton; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Thomas retired from the East Peoria Caterpillar in 1987 after 33 years. He loved to go raccoon hunting, and was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. Thomas was of the Christian Faith.
Thomas served in the Army during the Korean War and WWII.
Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 N. Main St., Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Pastor Burt Clark will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Shields Chapel Cemetery in Rural Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society.
