Clifford A. Taylor Sr., 85, of Prairie City, passed away at 10:35 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Prairie City Rehab and Healthcare Center. He was born on November 22, 1931 in Middlegrove, a son of Ralph and Ruby (Phillips) Taylor. He married Geraldine Anderson on May 5, 1959 in London Mills, she survives.
Also surviving are six children; Clifford (Sandy) Taylor Jr. of Cuba, Crawford (Christina) Taylor and Casey Taylor both of Bushnell, Charley (Melissa) Taylor from current marriage; Pamela Lowe of Canton, Debbie (Kirk) Abernathy of Macomb from previous marriage; two brothers, Ralph (Crystal) Taylor of Canton; Richard (Nancy) Taylor of Middlegrove; two sisters, Mary (Dennis) Blessinger of Arizona, and Sandy Mulligan of Canton; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Curtis and Craig; one daughter, Crystal, and several brothers and sisters.
Clifford retired from the coal mine and was the Co-Owner of Ace In The Hole a restaurant/bar in Middlegrove,IL. He was also a veteran from the U.S. Air Force.
A celebration of life will be held on January, 28 2017 at 4:00 PM at Fairview Café. Cremation rites will be accorded at Sedgwick Funeral Home & Crematory, 1995 North Main, Canton. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald’s House.
