Robert “Bob” Yocom

CANTON- Robert “Bob” Yocom, 62, of Canton, passed away at 12:56 AM on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, IA. He was born on June 13, 1954 in Peoria to Bill and Betty (Costley) Yocom. He married Mary Ellen Hackett in September of 2001, she survives.
Also surviving are his three children; Michael Yocom of Louisiana, Melissa (Jonathon) Smith of Canton, Jeremy Hackett of Canton; two grandchildren, Natalie and Ace Smith; one brother, David Yocom of Elmwood; two sisters, Sherry (Lauren) Dagit of Spring Bay, and Linda (Harry) Lakin of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Richard Yocom.
Bob worked for Hiel Trucking in Prairie City. He was a veteran of the Navy for 20 years and retired in 1993.
Services will be at 5 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 N. Main St., Canton, IL, where a visitation will be from 3-5 PM. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Memorial can be made to the Veterans Affairs.
