Robert D. Wilson

Robert passed away peacefully at the Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL, on July 15, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born to Evelyn Joann Allen and Dale Wilson on June 26, 1945. Robert had close relationships and experienced the loss of so many loved ones who were waiting to welcome him to heaven. These loved ones include: Evelyn Allen-Bridson, Dale Wilson, Clarence Bridson (Stepfather), Jack Trietsch (older brother), Jerry Trietsch (older brother), Rhonda Siegel (daughter), Roberta Miller (daughter), Keith Siegel (grandson), Megan Siegel (granddaughter), and special friend Maryann Meehan.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Kyla (Richard) Carlson, his daughter Darcey Stoddard, his son James (Anita) Bennett, his daughter Tracy (Joe) Carter, his son Robert Wilson Jr, and his daughter Rebecca (Bill) Malone. Robert is survived by his former wife, longtime companion, and continued best friend, Glenda Wilson. Robert is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Robert spent the majority of his work career serving in the US Army, working at Pabst Brewery, and working at Seneca Food Corporation. Robert enjoyed history, trivia, keeping up to date on current events, spending time with his family, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play. Robert was a fan of music that ranged from religious music, to western music, to polka music.

Robert had a great sense of humor, was kind, and was generous. His passing has left an ache in the hearts of all who knew him well and were lucky enough to call him friend or family. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Oak -Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, IL. A celebration of life gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. led by Pastor David Hamilton of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to our fund for the Richard L Owens Hospice Home. Funds collected will be donated in Robert’s name to benefit the families served by this facility.
