Katrina “Katie” Renken

Farmington- Katrina “Katie” Renken, 51, of Farmington, passed away at 7:30 PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her residence. She was born on September 26, 1973 in Canton, a daughter of William Brooks and Anne (Cernich) Widener. She married Trevor Renken on June 10, 2000 in Glasford. He survives.


Also surviving are her children, Olivia (Dylan Kenney) Renken; Gage Renken, both of Farmington; her mother, Anne (Charles) Widener of Lewistown; her father, William (Suzie) Brooks of St. Cloud, Florida; sisters, Angela (David Prince) Wilson of Pekin; Sherry (Shaun) Joachim of Canton; brother, Edward (Kacy) Brooks of Murray, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews, and also surviving are step-sisters, Amy Widener of Idaho, Joy (Chuck) Corsaw of Cuba, and step-brothers, Jason Sager of Illinois; Dale Sager of Florida.


Preceding Katie in death was her, maternal grandparents, Frank (Betty) Cernich; paternal grandparents, Edward (Ruth) Brooks; father and mother-in-law, Rick (Valorie) Renken, and brother- in-law, Scott Wilson.


Katie worked as a school teacher, working at District #150 in Peoria, teaching the visually impaired students. She enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers, and attending her children’s sporting events, but most of all, was spending time with her loving family and friends.


Graveside service and burial will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Oakridge Cemetery in Farmington. A celebration of life gathering at the Farmington Moose Lodge will follow the graveside service. Cremation rites will be accorded through Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home.
