He was born on February 12, 1947, in St. Louis Missouri, to John “Jack” Schlobohm, and Margaret (Hess) Schlobohm. They preceded him in death as well as one brother Dennis (Kim) Schlobohm, and one great grandson Beau.
John Married Cheryl (Binegar) Schlobohm, on May 15, 1976, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood. Cheryl preceded him in death on February 26, 2018.
He is survived by two sons, Ryan (Carolyn) Schlobohm of Arizona, and Jeremy (Michelle) Schlobohm of Louisiana, four grandchildren, Brock, Hailey (Ethan), Bryce, and Seth, three brothers, Michael (Jodie) Schlobohm, David (Steve) Schlobohm, and Jimmy (Colleen) Schlobohm.
John is a Veteran of the United States Army. He served in active duty for four years during the Vietnam War. He then served in the United States Army Reserves for four years at Fort Leonardwood.
John Graduated from Illinois Central College in Peoria. He first worked for Emro marketing company at the Speedway Station in Peoria and later in Chillicothe. John lasty worked for Proctor and Gamble in Peoria.
John was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan he enjoyed watching them play and was able to attend their 1964 World Series victory, as well as their 2011 victory. He also enjoyed following the St. Louis Blues. He enjoyed listening to music and most of all John enjoyed being with his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood a celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse.
