Purmod “Pete” Jain, 77 died July 23, 2025 after a long hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born November 21, 1947 in Punjab India, he made the courageous decision to move across the world and sought out further education and opportunities here in Illinois. While living in Peoria IL, he met the love of his life, Peggy Buhs. They were married on September 26, 1982. He furthered his education by attending Bradley University for a degree in finance and later obtained his MBA from University of Illinois. He spent nearly 40 years at CEFCU managing investments, making many lifelong friends along the way. He was very proud to officially become a US citizen in 1987. He officially retired from CEFCU in 2012 and was able to move to Florida, and spend time with Peggy and friends at the beach and on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy; one daughter, PooJa (Ben) Clary; and two grandsons, Leo Dale & Graham Peter; one brother, five sisters, and many nieces & nephews. Purmod was preceded in death by his parents, Qimat Rai and Maya (Agarwal) Jain.
“Pete” loved having fun and bringing the humor to the room. He could watch golf for days & enjoyed testing his luck at the casino. His pride and joy were his grandsons.
A private family ceremony will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton.
