Gary Harrison Schroeder

Gary Harrison Schroeder, 80, of Havana, passed away at 11:57 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 1, 1945 in Pekin, IL, to Edward August Jr. and Ruth (Neuman) Schroeder. He married Joyce Smith on August 12, 1968 in Pekin, IL. She survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Melinda Sue Schroeder-Hall, Jennifer Lynn Hedrick, and Susan Renee (Eddie) Davis; two adopted granddaughters, Heather Schroeder-Johnson and Leighann Marie (Christopher) Schroeder-Mason; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gary worked and retired after 23 years from Common Wealth Edison. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, antique shopping and spoiling children. Gary never met a stranger. He was also a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
