CANTON – James Melvin Kyle, age 85, of Canton, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 29th at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home Peoria, IL with his family around him.
Jim was born on July 25,1939, in Peoria, IL, the son of Elwood Kyle and Ada Gerdes. Jim is survived by his longtime companion, Sandi Collinson and his children Mary Sloan of Montgomery, IL, Kelly (Mark) Flessner of Mapleton, IL, BJ (Crystal) Kyle of Peoria, IL, step-children Amy (Tim) Lindsey of Canton, IL, Daniell (Crystal) Collinson of Canton, IL, Rick Collinson of Bushnell, IL and Jason (Angie) Young of Yukon, OK; half-siblings Robert Kyle, Joanne (Doug) Mooney, Donald (Sue) Kyle, & Sheryl (Pat) Hanley. Jim was blessed with 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Lois Sowka and half-sister, Karen Diehl.
Jim was founder and owner of Pleasant Heights Farm & Cuba Farms from 1973 to his retirement in July 2001. He also worked at Raber Packing, and Super-Value. Jim graduated from Limestone High School 1957.
Jim was a member of the Moose Lodge 1571 Farmington, IL. Jim loved to Hunt, Fish & Farm.
