Lewistown- Doris Irene Weaver, 81, of rural Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She was born on October 26, 1940 in rural Cuba, IL a daughter of Dale Edward and Lila Mae (Hooper) Henderson. She was married to Larry Norman Weaver on November 20, 1960 at the Sinnett Chapel in rural Cuba. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2020.
Surviving are two children, J. Garrett Weaver of rural Lewistown, and Lana (Mike) Downs of Canton; two grandchildren, Cassandra Downs and Colton Downs, both of Canton; Two sisters; Darlene (Kay) White of Marietta, and Leigh Ann (Pat) Dissman of Havana; two brothers, Marvin Ray (Hazel) Henderson of Smithfield, and Dale Allen (Marilyn) Henderson of Urbana, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Donna (John) Shaw.
Doris worked fulltime as a dedicated Farm Wife and loving mother. She served as an Election Judge in Liverpool Township for over 30 years. She also was a passionate caretaker of all animals. Doris will be remembered as a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, who was especially proud of her family.
Doris was a member of the Maples Mill United Methodist Church. She helped everyone in a time of need. In her spare time, Doris continued her love of reading and doing crossword and word search puzzles. She also collected Collie dogs to proudly display and enjoy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Bethel Cemetery in Rural Canton. Pastor Lori Carlson will be officiating. Memorials may be made to Fulton County Humane Society.
