Andrew C. "Andy" Jones

Andrew C. “Andy” Jones, 89, of Petersburg, IL passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 8:32 AM. He was born on August 26, 1932, the son of Daniel and Flossie (Stroud) Jones. He married Wanda E. Masten on May 14th, 1951. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his son, Carl E. Jones on April 4th, 2011.

Andy is survived by his grandchildren, Melissa K. Jones and Matthew E. Jones both of Petersburg; great grandchildren, Dallas M.D. Jones (Fiancé Samantha R. Nelson), Kaylee R. Jones (Fiancé Jacob A. Grogan); two great great grandchildren Olivia and Parker Grogan; and several nieces and nephews.
Andy was a long-time resident of Petersburg and a business owner operating several service stations over a period of 29 years. He loved golf and was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan.
A visitation will be held for Andy on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, IL. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4th at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home. Pastor Keith Masten will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg. Memorials may be made to the family and plants are welcomed for the visitation and funeral, as the family can take them home and cherish them for years to come.
