Canton-Robert Kirkpatrick, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on January 19, 1932 in Canton to Everett and Rosamond (Vancil) Kirkpatrick. They preceded him in death.
He married Reta Rumler on September 29, 1955 in Palmyra, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Tom (Teresa) Kirkpatrick of Canton, Stacey Cozad of Lewistown, Jennie (Danny) Steach of Canton, Grandchildren, Kristin, Zane, Tommy, Mallory and Robert, great grandchild, Grace, a close friend of the family, Lori Ellsworth and a special niece, Cindy Stockov.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Kirkpatrick and one sister, Marcia Newton.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. He retired from Buckheart Mine and was a member of the American Legion. Most of all he loved working around his house, keeping his yard perfect and spending time with his family.
Cremation rites have been accorded per his wishes and a private burial of the ashes will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion.
