Canton – Peggy J. Ford, 86, of Canton, passed away at 7:35 pm Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton. She was born on January 25, 1932 in Canton to Edward and Beulah (Deushane) Peart. She married Harold Ford on August 8, 1955 in Herrin, IL. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2000. Also preceding in death were her parents, two sisters; Edna Peart and Rosalie Grzanich, step-son Robert “Biz” Ford, two nieces; Judy Shumate and Carol Theyse and her special friend Carl Miller. Surviving are her nephew Larry (Denise) Grzanich, three great-nephews; Curtis Theyse, Kenny (Laura) Shumate, Jeff Shumate, and Mike (Renee) Grzanich, great- niece Yvette (Tim) Woods, step-daughter-in-law Marilyn Ford, step-granddaughters; Marlo (Don) Willett and Robyn Smith, step- great-grandchildren, and many great nieces and nephews.
Peggy retired from Illinois Bell Telephone in 1986 after 34 years of service. She loved her dogs; Wego and Buttons and loved children, music, and dancing. Peggy was a member of the Moose and volunteered for many years at the Dunfermline Chicken Fry.
Services will be at 11 am Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be 1hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
