Farmington – Iona Y. Grgurich, 99, of Farmington, passed away 9:20 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Unity Point Health Methodist. She was born on April 8, 1918 in Farmington, IL to Enrico and Mary (Baudino) Allovio. She married Anton W. Grgurich on June 12, 1937, he preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers, Henry Allovio Jr. and Joseph M. Allovio, and one sister, Mary Allovio (Gray).
Surviving is one son, William A. (Margaret) Grgurich of Peoria; two grandchildren, Richard A. (Erin) Grgurich of Mahomet, IL and Christopher A. (Stephanie) Grgurich of Plymouth, MN; and four great-grandchildren.
Iona was a member of Tri County Senior Center in Farmington and the Farmington Moose.
Per Iona’s request there will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Oakridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. Memorials can be made to Farmington Rescue Squad or Tri County Senior Center in Farmington.
