LEWISTOWN- George L. Bonney, 72, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:15 PM on Monday, October 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 6, 1944 in Canton, a son of Paul and Helen (Rohrer) Bonney. He married the love of his life, Sandra Johnson on July 5, 1964 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin (Leigh Ann) Bonney of Lewistown; Scott (Tammy) Bonney of Canton, and three grandsons, Tyler, Adam, and Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Alice Fawcett.
George was a self-employed farmer for many years, a member of Pork Producers, and several Cattle Breed Associations, member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, he was the East Liverpool Drainage Commissioner, a mason of the Masonic Lodge in Cuba, and an avid Chicago Bears Fan. He loved farming and watching his sons and grandsons show livestock in the 4-H shows.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton, where Masonic rites will be at 7:00 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund.
