Canton – Gary “Leaky” Fawcett, 75, of Canton, passed away at 5:51 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. He was born on September 6, 1942 in Canton, IL to Donald and Louise (Cleer) Fawcett. He married Patricia Eddy on May 14, 1977 in Canton, IL.
Also surviving are three children, Scott (Lisa) Fawcett of Princeton, IL, Michelle Fawcett of Ipava, IL, and Steven Shutter of Ipava; one step son, Bart (Denise) McDonald of Canton, IL; one brother, Mark (Linda) Fawcett of Table Grove, IL; and one sister, Rita (Jack Browning) Hatch of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Tina Fawcett, and step son, Rich McDonald.
Gary worked for IH/Navistar in Canton and Indianapolis for many years. He was a 50 year member of the Ipava Lodge and Mohammed Shrine in Peoria, IL, he was also a member of the Ipava Presbyterian Church, Farmington Moose Lodge, Canton American Legion, and the Canton Elks Lodge. Gary served in the United States Army.
Cremations rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Ipava Cemetery. Memorials can be made out to American Heart Association. To make online condolences you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
