Robert Roy “Rob” Zempel
Lewistown- Robert Roy “Rob” Zempel, 77, a lifelong resident of Lewistown, passed away at 7:24 AM Thursday April 27, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.
He was born September 26, 1939 at Canton, the son of Karl F. and Helen (Ranson) Zempel. Survivors include his step mother, Alice Zempel of Lewistown, with whom he made his home for 45 years, one sister, Zoe (Norman) White of Forest City, one brother, Karl R. “Hoot” Zempel of Lewistown, one niece, two nephews, three great nieces, and two great nephews.
Rob graduated from Lewistown Community High School where he was very active in sports. He later attended Kemper Military School where he played football. He worked the majority of his life at the family business, Zempel Hardware in Lewistown. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Rob will always be remembered for his love of people and kids, as he strolled the streets of Lewistown with his friendly smile. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown.
Services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held from 10-11:30 AM. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
