Canton
– Jerome “Jerry” Rosich, 89, of Canton, passed away at 1:05 PM on
Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Renaissance Care Center. He was born on May 25,
1928 in Springfield, IL to John Rosich and Duncia Franciskovich. He
married Zelma Gilmore on June 4, 1949 in Canton; she survives.
Also
surviving are two children, Jerry (Pat) Rosich of Oklahoma City, OK,
Gary (Brenda Russell) Rosich of Canton; five grandchildren, Amber (Doug)
Hampton, Heather (Al) Goenner, Bryan Rosich, Cody (Tara) Rosich, and
Travis (Megan) Rosich; four step grandchildren and eleven
great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Jerry
worked for International Harvester for 30 and ½ years. He was a heat
treater, and self-employed masonary. He was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, and the American Legion Post 16. He was an avid
fisherman, loving father and worked very hard.
Jerry served in Germany in WWII from 1946-1949 as an Army Corporal.
Visitation
will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Sedgwick
Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, with military rites at 12
noon. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes &
Crematory. Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Building Fund or Food
