Virginia
F. Glad, 94, formerly of Canton passed away at 3:15 am Tuesday, January
12, 2016 at the Alden Courts Assisted Living in Aurora, IL. She was
born on November 5, 1921 in Cuba, IL to Carl and Winnie (Harris) Ellis.
Virginia married Phillip Glad on January 18, 1941 in Lewistown. He
preceded her in death on March 10, 2001. Also preceding her death were
her parents and two brothers; Robert Ellis and Harris “Pete” Ellis.
Surviving
are 3 children; Judith Ann (Constantin) Loghides of Yuma, AZ, Phyllis
Diane Fletcher of Montgomery, IL, and Valorie Flo (Robert) Jagodzinski
of Batavia, IL, 7 grandchildren; Paige, Becky, Nick, Adam, Jeremy,
Vanessa, and Alison, 19 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchild.
Virginia
worked at Romeoville School District for 11 years retiring in 1974.
She was a member of D.A.R. Canton Chapter and was the family historian
and traced lineage for the Glad, Ellis, Lutz, and Miller families.
Services
will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial
Home in Canton where visitation will be from 12:30-2 pm. Burial will
follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorial’s can be made
