He was born March 16, 1937 at Canton, the son of Elmer Leland and Virginia (Antrim) Simpson. He married Marilyn Kay Pigg on July 5, 1964 at Smithfield. She died July 2, 1988. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dennis Patrick Simpson. Survivors include one daughter, Michele (Duane) Bellue of Punta Gorda, FL; three grandchildren, Nikki Bellue of Gainsville, GA; Garrett and Faith Bellue of Punta Gorda, FL; two sisters, Anne Hart of Canton, and Sue Sherry of Houston, TX, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Diane and Robert Weaver of Lewistown.
Mike was a 1954 graduate of Lewistown High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and worked for the Ohio River Company, and later at the Illinois Power Company in Havana until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown, with military rites accorded by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1.
