Lela Ferrarini
Canton-Lela Ferrarini, 92, of Canton, passed away at 5:30 am, Thursday, December 31, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on March 3, 1923, in Canton, to Walter and Georgia (Cooper) Eveland. They preceded her in death.
She married Leo “Tuffy” Ferrarini on March 12, 1950 in Canton. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1983.
Together they had five children, Donna Sutterlee, Jill Dunham, Murlea Long, all of Canton and Michelle (Don) Lewis of Tupelo, MS.
Also surviving is a step brother David Wells of Canton, several nieces and nephews, eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren and her sweet little dog Amy Lynn.
A son Don Freeman, a grandson, Marty Corbitt and a great grand daughter, Amanda Ball preceded her in death as did her brothers, Russell and Ralph Eveland and her sisters Elenor Winegardner and Leila Purtle.
She was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 65 years and was an organizer for the funeral meals, often doing the cooking for many years. She also worked at the Canton Nursing Home (Renaissance Care Center) for ten years.
She was proud of all her grandchildren and told them often how much she loved them.
Keeping with her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 11 am, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. There will be no visitation.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
