CANTON- (Helen) Joanne Ford, 83, of Canton, passed away peacefully at 10:45 A.M. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Graham Hospital.
She was born on January 29, 1932 in Decatur, Illinois, a daughter of Ben and Verna (Drake) Parlier. They preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Ben (and Carolyn) Ford of Canton, Rick (and Sharon) Ford of Missouri, and one daughter, Cindy (and Bret) Irwin of Green Valley, also surviving are one sister, (Harriett) Frances James of Canton; one nephew, Gary Maxon of Lewistown, 5 Grandchildren, Jennifer Twait of Mapleton, Becky (and Andrew) Reese of Washington, B.J. Ford of Cuba, Julie (and Kevin) Bermijo of Pekin, and Eric Ford, 5 Step-Grandchildren, Crystal, Stephen, Brittany, Austin, Corey, and 6 Great- Grandchildren, 4 Step- Great Grandchildren.
Joanne graduated from Canton High School in 1951, where she was Library Vice-President, Property Chairman, and a member of several clubs.
She worked for Graham Hospital in the cafeteria for many years.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Services will be Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, where visitation will be one hour prior. The Rev. K. Bruce Rushing will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow services at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
