Ronald Schubert

Elmwood – Ronald “Ron” R. Schubert, 78, passed away at 10:28 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, at his residence in Elmwood.
He was born on June 29, 1937, in Peoria, IL, to Richard and Marjorie (Meyers) Schubert.  He married Shirley A. Clemonds on June 30, 1956, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood.  She survives.
He is survived by three children, Ronald (Darlenis) Schubert of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Rhonda Jackson  of Elmwood, and Susan Schubert of Charleston, South Carolina; six grandchildren; Megan Meehan, Ashley Meehan, Craig Meehan, Ronald L. Schubert, Darlene Schubert, and Josh Pacheco; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Meehan and Savannah Schubert.  He is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald W. Schubert and Richard L. Schubert, and one great grandson, Caleb Meehan.
Ron worked at Caterpillar for over 37 years as a Transmission Assembler where he retired in 1992.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood.  Most of all, he was a devoted husband and father and adored his grandchildren.     
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, where visitation will be held two hours prior to services.  Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
