Canton -Louise Mary "Gina" Hammond, 95, of Canton, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on January 15, 1927 in Kincaid, IL to August and Maria (Maccagnan) Toigo. She married James "Bob" Hammond on June 28, 1947 in Canton. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2017. Surviving are three children; Laura M. (Mark) Taylor of Canton, Charles B. (Stephanie) Hammond of Canton, and Paul A. (Julie) Hammond of Peoria, eight grandchildren, Gina (Kevin) Riley, Megan (Tim) Heine, Sarah (Jay) Hopwood, Christina (Jeffery) Minnish, Lana (Matt Mallicoat) Hammond, Maggie (Sam) Brown, Derek (Lindsey) Hammond and Chet (Ashley) Hammond and fifteen greatgrandchildren. Gina worked at Chubb's Liquor Store in Canton and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Cremation rites have been accorded by Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A graveside burial of the ashes will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Canton on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11 am. Memorials can be made to St Mary's Food Pantry.
