Betsy Ruth Winkelmann

Betsy Ruth Winkelmann, 72, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away at Springfield Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2022. She was born March 17, 1950, the daughter of Robert and Eula Maye (Harris) McLin, in Beardstown, Illinois. She married Robert Winkelmann on November 27, 1976, in Virginia, Illinois.

Betsy was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Petersburg. She worked for the University of Illinois Extension Office in Petersburg.

Betsy is survived by her husband, Robert; a son and daughter, Kyle (wife Carrie) Winkelmann of Tallula, Illinois, and Marcy (husband Rob) Newbold of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, Lydia Winkelmann, Grady Winkelmann, Arlo Winkelmann, Jack Newbold and Harrison Newbold; and a brother, Robert (wife Carol) McLin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William “Bill” McLin.

Betsy’s family will be hosting a celebration of life at the Central Presbyterian Church in Petersburg on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Light food will be provided by the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Menard County Senior Transport or the Central Presbyterian Church.
