Roger L. Harris

Roger L. Harris, 82, of Peoria, formerly of Canton, passed away at 11:28 pm, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on March 11, 1939 in Canton to Lyle and Katherine (Thomas) Harris. Roger married Mary Collen Garzee on July 27, 1958 in Canton. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2004. He later married Christina Beatty on July 1, 2008 in Lewistown. She survives along with seven children; Curtis Harris of Rock Island, Chris (Phyllis) Harris of Mulberry, FL, Craig Harris of Dayton, FL, Charles Harris of Myrtle Beach, S.C, Cary Harris of Peoria, Chad (Marcia) Harris of Dothan, AL and Joetta (Jeffrey) Workman of Canton, two brothers; Dale Harris and Lyle Richard Harris, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roger worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years, retiring as a fire inspector. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton.
Services will be 11 am, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, December 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
