Caroline “Jackie” L. Yazvec, 90, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 3:15 pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her home. She was born on Tuesday, May 5, 1931 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Gail and Edith (Kelly) Taber. Jackie married Michael Yazvec on December 30, 1951 in Ipava. Mike preceded Jackie in death on March 5, 2019.
Also preceding her are 3 sisters, Almalee Johnson, Shirley Marie Taber and Imogene Hammond.
Surviors include her one daughter, Nancy (and Harold "Bud") Sackett of Ipava, two sons, Michael (and Cindy) Yazvec of Table Grove, IL and Fred (and Reta) Yazvec of Ipava, five grandchildren; Jason (and Ashley) Yazvec, Blake Yazvec, Darrin (and Miranda) Yazvec, Christopher Yazvec, and Curtis Yazvec, five great-grandchildren; Jaylee, Jack, Harlee, Tucker, and Greysen Yazvec, and her sister, Ann Wys of Ipava.
Jackie worked at Fiber Steel in Astoria, IL in the late 1960’s. She also farmed along side her husband Mike throughout her life. She spent a lot of time woodworking, making birdhouses, benches, tables and several different things.
She was a member of the Ipava Christian Church. She loved riding her Golf Cart around Ipava and mowing the yard.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Brant Reed will be officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ipava Christian Church.
