Glen Spencer

Canton- Glen Spencer, 78, of Canton, passed away at 4:43 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He was born on September 7, 1943 in Canton, a son of Edward J. and Vera (Atchley) Spencer. He married Gloria G. Shryock on December 15, 1962 in Oquawka, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2018.

Also preceding him in death is his parents and one daughter, Andrea Flynn, and one brother, Bud Spencer.

Surviving is one son, Edward “Randy” Spencer of Canton; two brothers, Mike (Shelley) Spencer, and Bill (Charlotte) Spencer both of Canton; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Glen worked and retired as a Autobody shop manager, after several years of service from Velde car dealerships in Pekin. He was a former member of the Canton, and Pekin Moose Lodges. He enjoyed restoring items for family and friends, loved dogs, woodworking, and had a gas pump collection.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on January 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Canton American Legion Post #16. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Burial of ashes will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton at a later date.
