Canton – Tressa C. Freeman, 88, of Canton, passed away at 1:25 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba, IL. She was born on January 2, 1933 in Canton, IL to Frederick and Florence (Clark) Grisolano. She married Ernest “Jack” Freeman in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1974.
Tressa was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Surviving are two children, Jack (Clara Faye) Freeman of Canton and Blanche Johnson of Canton; four grandchildren, Christa Ledford, Katrina Freeman, Danny Freeman, and James Freeman; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Tressa owned Chicken or the Sea, worked in restaurant management for many years, and also worked for 20 years at the Canton Manufacturing Co. in Canton. She enjoyed taking girls trips to Branson, dancing, music, crafting, and playing cards.
Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL where a visitation will be held an hour prior. Gary Kruzan will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. A celebration of life will follow the services at the Canton American Legion Post 16. Memorials can be made to Clayberg Nursing Home or Fulton County Humane Society. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory.
