Farmington - Phillip E. Azbell, 86, of Farmington, passed away, Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born on January 21, 1935, to John K. and EvaLeta (Braden) Azbell. He married Annabelle (Senders) on July 12, 1953, in Canton. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2003. He is survived by his son Randy (the late Julie) Azbell of Arenzville, IL, sister Shirley Moore of Mesa, AZ, sister - in - law Lelia Azbell of Mesa, AZ, three granddaughters, Melody (Doug) Claudius of Rushville, IL, Regan (Adam) Wherley of Havana, IL, and Katie (Kody) Knoche of Warsaw, IL and six great grandchildren, Will, Matt and Izzy Claudius and Addisyn, Haidyn and Madilyn Wherley. Also preceding him in death are his parents, daughter Tana Azbell, two brothers, Virgil (Sherry) Azbell and Merlin Azbell and one brother - in - law Doyle Moore. Phil retired from Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville after 35 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He served as an Apr Air Policeman from January 29, 1955 until January 28, 1959 during the Korean War. He was stationed at the McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas with his last duty assignment and major command was 4347th CSUPPGRU (SAC). He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows #44, Rebekah Lodge #155 and the Peoria Motorcycle Club. Phil enjoyed spending time with family and friends, farming, fishing, playing cards, square dancing with his wife, riding motorcycles, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, listening to old country music and watching the Price is Right. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Foster Cemetery in Fairview at 11:15 a.m.. There will be no visitation.
