Canton- James "Jim" Starcevich, 91, passed away on
Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence after a short battle with
cancer.
He was born on August 14, 1929 in St David to Peter and Vera (Stefancich) Starcevich. They preceded him in death.
He married Janet Oaks.
Surviving is his daughter, Julia (Jerry) Lee of Brazil, IN, eight
grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great
granddaughter and one sister, Elizabeth Krulac. He was also preceded in
death by one son Joel, two brothers, Joseph, Peter (Sonny), one sister,
Mary Alice Henderson and one great granddaughter, Elise Wells.
Jim
barbered in Canton for over 70 years lastly owning and operating Jim's
Barber shop. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights
of Columbus, Canton Elks Lodge #626 and was and avid golfer at the
Canton Country Club. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially Notre
Dame football.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 19,
2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton. A visitation
will be held on Saturday June 19, 2021, from 8:45 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will immediately follow
the funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Food Pantry.
