Canton-Michael Kuzniar Jr., 98, of Canton, Passed away, Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at his home in Canton.
He was born on March 13, 1923, in Canton to Michael Sr. and Katherine (Cizadlo). They preceded him in death.
He married Bette (Anderson) on May 22, 1946, in Canton. She preceded him in death in 2017.
Also preceding him in death are his children, Maudeen Kay Bohanan,
Rodney M. Kuzniar, an infant child, six brothers, Alfred, Adolf, Edward,
Joseph, Stanley and John and one sister Amelia Scott.
Mike is
survived by two sisters, Harriett Dilts of Canton, and Anges Parlee of
Honolulu, three grandchildren, Richard Bohanan Jr, Bettina Bohanan,
Kaylyn Kuzniar (Greg Jr.) Henseler and one great grandchild Livy Kay
Swearingen.
Mike was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he
served during WWII on the USS Hunt. He was an active member and past
Commander of the Canton American Legion where he helped with countless
fish fries. He worked at International Harvester in Canton for 36 years
retiring in 1982. He was involved with 40/8 and the Canton VFW. Mike
enjoyed golfing in retirement, he was a past member of the Canton
Country Club and Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills Country Club. He was an avid Chicago
Cubs and Bears fan, but most of all Mike always loved and cared for all
of his family.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June
30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. There will
be no visitation.
Burial with military honor's will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Canton immediately following the services.
Memorials may be made to the Canton American Legion.
