Charles C. “Chuck” Haggerty, 86, of Canton, passed away at 4:18 AM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on September 29, 1934 in Farmington, a son of Ira C. and Lael (Ebbe) Haggerty. He married Carol Spiegler on June 30, 1956 in Des Plaines, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Andrea (Randall) Mooberry of East Peoria, IL and Chris (Jennifer) Haggerty of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren, Casey (Patrick) Brooks, Hope (Dan) Martin, Logan Mooberry, Hailey Haggerty, and Noah Haggerty; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Colleen) Haggerty of Elmwood, IL; and one sister, Lael Boerckel of Peoria.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Phillip Haggerty.
Chuck was an owner, along with his family of American Pest Control, retiring after 61 years, and he also enjoyed farming. He served as President of the Illinois Pest Control Association, was a Regional Director of National Pest Management Association, and served on the Illinois Structural Pest Control Advisory Council, Graham Hospital Board of Directors for 12 years where he was Chairman for 2 years, a member of the Fiatt Independent Christian Church. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association. Chuck enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating with friends, but most of all, the time he spent with his loving family. He also enjoyed the sunshine of Tucson, AZ during the Illinois winters. Chuck proudly served as an Officer in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where a visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021, and also one hour before the services on Tuesday. A burial will follow services at Brunswick Cemetery. Chuck’s Nephews Pastors Scott and Rich Boerckel will officiate.
