Hettie M. Hoopingarner- Hutton, 84, of Hanna City, passed away at 4:55 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021. Hettie was born on December 18, 1936 in Norris City, IL to J. Roy Dishman and Opal Blake. She married Billy Lee Hoopingarner on April 23, 1954. He passed away on March 22, 1993. She later married Elmer Leon Hutton on June 12, 1995. He passed away June 20, 2016.
Hettie is survived by her daughter, Sheryll (Joe) Hillman of Tremont, IL; six sons, Buddy (Deanna) of Hanna City, Michael (Mari) of Davenport, IA, Billy (Sandra) of LaCrescent, MN, Darryl (Teresa) of Bartonville, IL, Garryl (Laurie) of Concord N.C., and Jefferey (Carol) Hoopingarner of Richmond, ME; two step-sons, Gary (Brenda) Hutton of Bartonville, IL and Ron (Mary) Hutton of Jackson, CA. She is also survived by three sisters, Lily Franklin, Rose Sullivan, and Lydia Dishman; one brother, William Blake; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as many that just called her grandma.
Hettie was preceded in death by her parents, stepson, Mark Hutton, granddaughter, Cheri Jo Wilcox, daughter-in-law, Tammy Jo Hoopingarner, three brothers, and one sister.
Hettie retired from Morton Caterpillar where she served as a Union Steward. She was a member of the Red Hats group, Red Hot Flutterbye’s.
Hettie loved traveling and visiting her large family and many friends and spending her winters in Mission, TX.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, June 14, 2021 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, IL. Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Mark Alcorn will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL. Donations can be made in her name to the Hanna City Firefighters Corporation.
