Canton - Mariola Elliott, 92, of Canton, passed away at 9:30 am Friday, August 11, 2017 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton. She was born on April 8, 1925 in McAllister, OK. to William Alford and Gertrude Mae (Dotson) Miller. She married Kenneth O. Elliott on June 9, 1946 in McAllister, OK. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister Theda Mae Carlson. Surviving are four children; Jeffrey (Lynn) Elliott of Tupelo, MS, Charlotte (Marty) Svob of Springfield, IL, Jacqueline (Rick) Burnap of Canton, and Constance (Gary) Reaktenwalt of Danville, IL, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Mariola worked as a secretary and was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Canton. She was an avid golfer and golfed often at Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills Country Club.
Services will be 6 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be 2 hours prior to services. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate. Memorials can be made to the 1st Baptist Church in Canton. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
