Kathryn O. Mahr, 87, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Fairview, IL, passed away at 8:22 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at New Perspective Memory Care in Silvis, IL. She was born on December 7, 1929 in Springfield, IL to Louis and Louise (Fagan) Kuder. She married Thomas A. Mahr on February 3, 1951 in Canton, IL, he preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one granddaughter, and two sisters, Louise Handley and Mary Ruey.
Surviving are three children, Tom (Cindy) Mahr of East Moline, IL, Tim (Barbara) Mahr of Davenport, IA, and Toni (Brian) Jensen of Rock Island, IL; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Timmons and Vera Wright, both of Canton, IL.
Kathryn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton, IL. She was also a member of Extension Homemakers association, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Fairview, IL. Kathryn loved sewing, all types of music, and handcrafts.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where a visitation will be held from 12-1 PM. Deacon Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, IL. Memorials can be made to New Perspective Memory Care, 1900 10th St., Silvis, IL 61282.
